Stanley Cup Playoffs: 'Canes Level Eastern Finals with 4-3 Win

Ray Whitney had both of his goals in the second period and the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-3 to even the Eastern Conference finals at a game apiece.
Frank Kaberle and Justin Williams also scored for Carolina.
Rookie goalie Cam Ward needed only 16 saves to pick up his ninth win of the playoffs.
Carolina's power play woke up after being shut out in the opener. The 'Canes scored power-play goals on their first two
opportunities.
Game Three is Wednesday night in Buffalo.
